I got a brief respite from my hectic life at the end of July when I drove up to Michigan for a family reunion. Due to many other things going on I could only stay for 36 hours but I was able to relax a bit, enjoy the surprising beauty of Lake Erie and spend some time with my niece.

I'm easily distracted by shiny and colorful objects, excitable about random things, overwhelmed by loud noises and crowds, an overly picky eater and a real grump if I don't get 8 hours of sleep each night - yes, I have a lot in common with the average toddler. Currently, I teach English in Korea while I complete my master's thesis on diasporic Hindu traditions in the U.S. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, exploring my new town and traveling.
