If I was given the opportunity to go anywhere in the world I would return to Cambodia. After three hectic weeks traveling all over Vietnam in May and June of 2009 I happily bid farewell to the other students who were part of the field study and turned my sights on Vietnam's neighbor. It's difficult to put into words how Cambodia enchants you - the friendliness of the people, the natural beauty of the country and the spectacular temples of Angkor Wat - it all overwhelms your senses and warms you.
Though the country suffers from immense poverty and you need to be careful where you trek due to the abundance of land mines that still plague the countryside, Cambodia is still the most charming country I've ever encountered. |
