_Flat Stanley, by Jeff Brown, tells the tale of a little boy named Stanley who wakes up one day and discovers that while he was asleep a bulletin board had fallen and flattened him. Stanley learns that there are a few advantages to his new physique - he can slide under locked doors, fit through a sewer grate to recover his mother's ring and fold himself to fit inside an envelope. He has many exciting adventures including thwarting an art thief and traveling to California by postal mail
The Flat Stanley project was started in 1995 by Dale Hubert, a teacher in Ontario, Canada. He realized that through the adventures of Stanley students could learn more about the world around them.
